The 2020 Mazda 3 in red is an economy-class hatchback with a 2.0-litre 150 hp petrol engine, an automatic gearbox and 6.2 l per 100 km. It is one of two hatchbacks in the fleet and the liveliest car in our economy segment.

It is rented for daily driving around Kyiv, weekends out of town and periods when your own car is in the workshop. Five seats, front-wheel drive and a compact body that parks easily. The equipment is straightforward: climate control, cruise control, rear camera, parking sensors, Android Auto / CarPlay, Bluetooth.

Rates: 55 $ per day for 1–3 days, 45 $ for 4–10 days, 35 $ for 11–25 days and 29 $ from 26 days. A two-day weekend is 110 $; a month is 870 $ over 30 days. The deposit is 400 $, the lowest in the fleet, paid when you pick up the car (card or cash) and returned when you bring the car back with no damage and no fines.

The price includes 300 km per day, pooled over the whole rental. Unlimited mileage for the economy class is 40 $ once per rental; without it, every kilometre over the limit is 0.15 $. KASKO and third-party insurance are included and liability is capped at the deposit. Delivery and collection are free in Kyiv and in Brovary, Irpin, Bucha, Boryspil and Bila Tserkva. Drivers must be 20+ with two years of experience.

Questions and answers

Rates are set per car: the Mazda 3 is 55 $ per day for 1–3 days, the Mazda 6 is 50 $. Over a long rental the gap nearly disappears — 29 $ against 28 $ per day from 26 days. The Mazda 3 does have the lower deposit: 400 $ against 600 $.

Fourteen days fall into the 11–25 day tier at 35 $ per day — 490 $ in total, plus a 400 $ deposit. Mileage over that period is 4,200 km pooled.

A hatchback — a five-door body with a wide boot opening. If you need a sedan for similar money, look at the Hyundai Elantra or the Toyota Corolla.

Trips within Ukraine are allowed except occupied territories and combat zones. Border crossing is by agreement.

Prohibited: handing the car to third parties, using it as a taxi, racing or off-road driving, driving under the influence, smoking inside.
In case of accident, damage or malfunction — notify Apex Rent Car immediately.
