How to Rent a Car in Kyiv: A Step-by-Step Guide for City Visitors

Renting a car in Kyiv takes about 15 minutes if you know the sequence. Here’s how it works at Apex Rent Car, step by step.

Step 1. Choose a car

The catalog features 54 cars ranging from economy class to exclusive models. Each listing shows four rates depending on the rental period (1–3, 4–10, 11–25, and 26+ days) and the deposit amount. Prices are listed in dollars, with a currency switcher for euros and hryvnias in the site header. The longer the rental, the cheaper the daily rate.

Step 2. Book online

Enter the dates, time and place of delivery, required options (child seat, unlimited mileage, cross-border travel), and your contact details. A manager confirms the booking within 15 minutes during business hours and sends the details via Telegram, Viber, or WhatsApp. Usually, no prepayment is required.

Step 3. Prepare your documents

• Passport. For foreigners — a valid international passport.
• Driver’s license with Latin characters. If your license uses another alphabet, an additional international driver’s permit is required.
• Bank card for the deposit or cash.

Minimum age is 20 years with at least 2 years of driving experience. For premium and exclusive classes, the minimum age is 23–25 years.

Step 4. Pick up the car

We deliver cars free of charge anywhere in Kyiv: to your hotel, home, office, or Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi train station. Airports are currently not operating, so most guests arrive by train from Poland — we meet you on the platform. You sign the contract, we inspect the car together and document its condition with photos, block the deposit, and hand over the keys.

Step 5. Drive

The price includes comprehensive insurance (CASCO and OSCPV), maintenance, seasonal tires, 300 km per day, and 24/7 support. Fuel policy is “full to full.” Need to extend the rental? Contact your manager, and we’ll extend it at the same rate.

Step 6. Return the car

Return the car at a convenient location in Kyiv at the agreed time. We inspect the car, and the deposit is released within 1–3 business days. Any traffic fines received later will be charged to the renter.
